Bear Ryan is an Americana artist based in north Mississippi. Her solo, singer-songwriter work combines lyric-writing reminiscent of Lucinda Williams and John Prine with a backdrop of country and delta blues guitar.

The Delta Snakes are Bear’s full band. A greasy, distortion-laced, heavy hitting outfit that combines north Mississippi hill country-esque grooves with elements of classic country and psychedelic rock. Hypnotic grooves meet American story-telling-lyrics. While live performances often draw comparisons between the power of Bear’s voice and the likes of Grace Slick and Margo Timmins, the timbre is all her own.

From listening rooms to festival stages, Bear has performed the gamut of venues from central Texas to the midwest and deep south. Antone’s Night Club. The Saxon Pub. Luckenbach, Texas. Red’s Juke Joint. The Blue Moon Saloon. C Boy’s Heart & Soul and The Skylark Lounge.

Bio ~ Bear Ryan

Bear Ryan, a Texan born and bred, draws her musical inspiration from the rich tapestry of Texas country and Delta blues that once filled her ears during her formative years. Today, she channels this influence into her distinctive brand of low-fence rock n roll as both a gifted singer and a compelling songwriter.
Her musical expression has been described as an unadulterated and immersive journey, evoking the raw, soulful essence of the swampy South. In a genre predominantly dominated by male voices, Bear Ryan stands as a unique and powerful female presence, challenging conventions and enriching the musical landscape.
Her performances are captivating narratives, weaving stories through her lyrics and hypnotic riffs. Bio ~ Ryan Robertson

He’s a long, tall Texan. Guitar-maker and player. If Bear’s lyics are the call, Robertson’s riffs are the response. Together they form a unique duo of distortion and grit, in service of the song.
Robertson came up in the south central Texas heat, raising plants and training horses and dogs. The cowboy hat keeps the sun off, it’s not just a silly prop.
He learned to play guitar at a young age, banging around the fret board and America’s highways as he and his buddies drifted from town to town. Drawn to the likes of Johnny Guitar Watson, Robertson developed a minimalist style that is all groove and no fluff. It complimented Bear’s sensibilities quite nicely and a duo was born.
When he is not performing on stage, Robertson is building custom instruments in his workshop. He builds all of the guitars played by Bear Ryan and you can learn more at Delta Avenue Guitars .com

The Delta Snakes

In 2025 Bear Ryan + Ryan Robertson added 2nd guitar and drums to the duo and a 4-piece band, The Delta Snakes, was born. Guitar Frenchie, hailing from Lyon, France and now living in Lyon, Mississippi weaves intricate leads into the drone tapestry while drummer, “BE”, lays down rhythmic and driving grooves. The project is a swampy, kitchen-sink amalgamation of rock n roll, roots, country, and blues.
